my style

I’ve spent some time recently reflecting on these past few months of taking pictures of OPKs (other people’s kids) on what I want my photography “style” to be.

I’ve quickly learned that my favorite kinds of pictures to take are when people aren’t posing. I believe that the best pictures I have of my own kids are when they aren’t posing and smiling perfectly. I love the pictures where they are interacting with each other or engrossed in a toy.

So I’ve determined that I am more of a “lifestyle” photographer.

As you browse this blog, you will see very few pictures with a studio feel, with a backdrop. What you will see are pictures of kids playing and, well, being kids. I feel it captures who they are more than a “sit still and smile” pose will.

I love to get out to a park or in your home and make memories in a relaxed fun atmosphere.

There are folks who love to take (and people who love to have taken) formal studio portraits – and I’d be happy to refer you to them!
